Introducing Ooyoun: See Your Buildings Before They Exist

The Problem Nobody Talks About

There's a dirty secret in construction: most clients don't understand what they're approving.

They sit in a meeting room. An architect pulls up renders — beautiful, polished images of a building that doesn't exist yet. The client nods. Signs off. Everyone moves forward.

Then, months later, the client walks into the actual space. The ceiling feels lower than they imagined. The corridor is narrower. The lobby doesn't have the presence they expected. And now, changing any of it means rework, delays, and cost overruns that ripple through the entire project.

This isn't a design failure. It's a communication failure. And it happens constantly.

In the GCC, where construction is moving at an extraordinary pace — mega-projects in Saudi Arabia, infrastructure expansion in Qatar, urban development across the UAE — the stakes are even higher. The scale of what's being built demands a better way to communicate what a space will actually feel like.

That's why we built Ooyoun.

What is Ooyoun?

Ooyoun (عيون — "eyes" in Arabic) is a VR walkthrough platform built for architecture, engineering, and construction.

It lets architects, engineers, developers, and their clients walk through a building in immersive 3D — before construction begins. Not a flyover animation. Not a static render. An actual walkthrough where you move through spaces, look around, and experience the scale and feel of a design as if you were standing in it.

The name reflects exactly what the product does: it gives people eyes on a project when it matters most — before decisions become concrete.

How It Works

We built Ooyoun on WebXR, which means the entire experience runs in the browser.

For the end user — whether that's a client, an investor, or a project stakeholder — the experience is simple. They receive a link. They open it. They're inside the building. No app to download. No software to install. No IT department to involve.

On a laptop or tablet, they navigate through the space with familiar controls. On a phone, they can look around just by moving the device.

And if they have a VR headset — Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, or any WebXR-compatible device — they put it on and the experience becomes fully immersive. Walk through corridors. Look up at atriums. Stand in a room and understand its proportions in a way that no flat image can convey.

This was a deliberate architectural choice. We didn't want to build something that required a specific headset or a native app. The construction industry doesn't have time for friction. A link that works everywhere — that's the standard we set for ourselves.

Why the GCC, Why Now

The GCC is in the middle of the largest construction cycle in its history.

Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 has catalyzed hundreds of billions in development. Qatar continues to build on the momentum of its infrastructure investments. The UAE is pushing forward with ambitious urban projects. Across the region, there is an enormous volume of complex, high-value construction underway.

And yet, the tools being used to communicate design intent are largely the same ones the industry has relied on for decades. 2D drawings. Static 3D renders. PDFs passed back and forth over email. The gap between what gets designed and what gets understood is as wide as ever.

We're building Ooyoun in Doha because this is where the problem is most acute — and where the appetite for better solutions is strongest. The firms we've spoken with don't need convincing that VR visualization has value. They need a product that actually works in their workflow without creating new headaches.

That's the bar we're building to.

What's Next

Ooyoun is still early. We're working closely with AEC firms in Qatar to refine the experience, understand workflow integration, and ensure the product delivers real value in real project contexts.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more — product demos, walkthrough examples, and the technical thinking behind how we're approaching this. If you're in the AEC space, in real estate development, or just interested in how immersive technology is changing how we build, we'd love for you to follow along.

We're a small team at Cyt Software, and we're building something we believe this industry needs. Ooyoun is just the beginning.
